Everything you need to know about editing your saves.

⚠️ ALWAYS MAKE BACKUPS!

Crucial: Before editing, copy your file.rmmzsave to a safe place (like a "Backups" folder). If something goes wrong, you can simply restore the original file.

📂 How to use the RPG Maker MZ Open Folder feature?

To enable full item and variable name detection, click "Open Game Folder" and select the main directory of your RPG Maker game (or the www / save folder).

💾 How to Save and Overwrite your RMMZ Save File?

Web browsers are sandboxed for security. They cannot just "silently overwrite" files on your PC without your permission.

Native Save: When you click Save, we attempt to open a "Save As" dialog. Simply select your original .rmmzsave or .rpgsave file and confirm the overwrite.
(If your browser doesn't support the File System Access API, it will download the file to your Downloads folder).

🔐 Why does my .rmmzsave file fail to load?

If your save file doesn't load, the developer likely used custom encryption or a plugin that modifies the standard RPG Maker MZ/MV save structure. Currently, we support all standard formats for RPG Maker MZ, MV, and Wolf RPG Editor.
